SEND Review Request Letter

Legally grounded, firm in tone

This letter is addressed to the SENCO and copied to the head teacher. It names the specific provision missing and sets a deadline.

Dear [SENCO name],

CC: [Head Teacher name], [School name]

Subject: Urgent Review Request — SEND Provision for [child's name]

I am writing to request an urgent review of the SEND provision for my child, [child's name]. I am concerned that provision outlined in my child's current EHC Plan is not being delivered.

Under the Children and Families Act 2014, the school has a legal duty to deliver the provision specified in my child's EHC Plan. Failure to do so is a breach of the plan and of my child's statutory rights.

I require a written response within 10 school days. If I do not receive a satisfactory response, I will escalate this matter to the Local Authority SEND team and, if necessary, to the First-tier Tribunal (SEND).

Yours sincerely,
[Your name]
